Swim and Sleep (Like a Shark)

I am a very sentimental person, and when I trace my life back through the photographs I’ve taken, I can connect with that part of myself that’s always feinding for a hit of nostalgia.
Amongst my friends, I like to say that I look at cameras as if they were time machines. It’s a very romantic way to think of it, but it just makes sense to me. With a camera, I can look at something happening in front of me and have an image to anchor the memory to. Weeks, months, and years later, I can look back at these old photographs and reexperience a part of that moment all over again.
At home, I have boxes full of photographs and prints, harddrives with thousands of shots, and binders full of old negatives from the last few years of making this venture a bigger and bigger part of my life. Being able to revisit parts of my past lives like that is a way for me to maintain these memories and share them with other people, and that is something I find very special.
So the theme of today is time travel, and as such I am compiling a few different old rolls of film I shot between December 2021 and Februray 2022. I hope you can latch on to a piece of these silly moments and smile alongside me.
Happy Wednesday!
