Being caught in between larger creative projects these last few weeks has been interesting. I’ve grown accustomed to jumping from one venture to the next pretty frequently, especially when I’m able to plan trips and explorations alongside it.
But with the winter cold in full effect and my wallet in recovery from my more recent excursions, I’ve had to be more clever and quick with rolling out work for this blog. I continue to be grateful for this platform and the discipline I’ve developed around it; even when I don’t have some big project or set to unveil, keeping the camera in my hands continues to be the mission and on that I’ve remained consistent!
All that aside, I do have a few fun pictures to share this week! With my birthday around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about age and life’s perpetual movement. Everyone loves a good birthday: cake, presents, drinks and friends are always a good time. That said, not all birthdays were created equal and as the luster and novelty of age comes to show its patina with time it’s only a matter of time before the birthday blends in with the other days of the week.
That sense of apathy was a bit of an emotional contrast I was aiming at for this shoot with another birthday boy in my life. I hope you can all get a kick out of these pictures. I’ll catch you next Wednesday!
