Portrait in Jazz
Coming off the tails of these last two retreats, I’ve found myself in the interrum between projects. I recently reconnected with an old friend of mine who, amidst our creative back and forths, started to reignite my love of cinema.
This last week has really had me deep in thought about the medium that brought me to the camera in the first place- filmmaking. There will likely be much more to come on this track soon enough, suffice to say I’m stretching my cinematography wings again and will have much more to show soon!
That said, photographically speaking, I’ve been thinking a lot about what an artist’s environment says about the artist and the work they produce. I did a small study in color and black and white to see how the two perspectives might reveal small details about the foundations of a body of work.
