Before we Begin

With the new year rearing its head, I took a quick trip to Washington DC last week with a dear friend of mine as a sort of inspirational reset. So often, I find being in the same environment with the same surroundings can make finding art in the world feel a bit too routine. On one hand, it’s a good practice to find beauty in the familiar, on the other I find myself far more curious and motivated to create when I’m in new places.

It was particularly pertinent that I go on this trip with Neil; he was solely responsible for putting a camera in my hands in the first place so many years ago. In a past life, so much of our time together was spent experiementing with cameras and doing wild shoots. It felt good to be back in our element together, especially with a new subject to work with!

Here is a small selection of some moments I captured in Washington DC on this quick trip!
