Brother John

For the last 4 days, I’ve been quarantining myself in my bedroom due to a recent covid diagnosis. After two or three days of feeling incredibly sick and spending most of those days laying down, drifting in and out of consciousness, I can conclusively say I am very tired of quarantine.
No amount of hot tea, warm soup, legos, minecraft, or vinyl records can make extended social isolation any less alienating. Luckily for me, I’ve only got a few days left of this.
I’ve felt a tremendous amount of pressure to use this downtime to be productive and ‘get caught up’ on work with things. Obviously this is a very serious illness that has caused the death of millions of people worldwide, it’s not something to be taken lightly, but finding a comfortable balance between work and play during this period of rest has been a funny little internal struggle for me.
To keep myself sane, I’ve likened to looking back at old pictures and videos over the years, feeling closer to people by reliving some old memories. Because of this I thought it would be nice to share a small collection of moments of life I had captured at the beginning of the month before I came down with covid.
Until next week, hopefully I’ll be much better by then.
